Join AALHA for our monthly Caregiver CE class. NCIA and In-Service certificates are available. This class will address end of life care and the caregiver's role. Upon Completion of this course attendees will be able to:

• Identify signs a resident is entering the dying process.
• Know what to expect from hospice during the dying process and what hospice is expecting of you.
• Know comfort medications: what they are, when they are indicated, how they should be given.
• Dispel myths about comfort medications.
• Physical care during end of life: bathing, skin care, repositioning, feeding, fluid, oral care.
• Feel comfortable carrying out the plan of care and communicating with family, next shift, and hospice team.
• End of life: What should be done once the resident passes.

Jennifer is a Registered Nurse specializing in hospice. She currently serves as a triage nurse at Summit Healthcare Services. She is a Licensed Acupuncturist and provides pain management care as well.
