This month's Caregiver CE class addresses a critical topic: elderly skin care. This course will cover:
- What is the role of the skin?
- How does skin change as we age?
- The role of pH in healthy skin.
- Factors that alter the pH:
- Dehydration, contact with bacteria, urine, feces.
- The effect of pressure on skin.
- Why the mattress matters.
NCIA and In-Service certificates are available.
Meet the Speaker:
Elissa began her nursing career in 2011 and has focused her talents towards caring for the elderly population in both home health and hospice care. She is certified in IV therapy, Blood withdrawal, as well as Ventilator and ancillary equipment. She has been with Hospice Compassus since 2019 serving as a LPN Field Nurse. She has served as an educator for new hospice nurses on Hospice philosophy, standards of care, Medicare Conditions of Participation, and all aspects of medication management.
