January Caregiver CE Class
Join AALHA for our monthly Caregiver CE class. NCIA and In-Service certificates are available. This month's topic will familiarize attendees with the Ombudsman Program. By the end of the presentation of the Resident Rights power point, you will have learned about the history of the Ombudsman Program, what resident rights are, and how the Ombudsman Program works with facilities and other parties to support and improve residents of Long Term Care quality of life.
Meet the Speaker:
Laura Macias
Long Term Care Ombudsman Outreach Specialist
Laura has worked at the Area Agency on Aging for ten years, six of those years with the Ombudsman Program. She graduated from Arizona State University with a Master in Social Work. She is an Arizona native and grew up in Mesa, where she still resides with three dogs, a pit bull and two chihuahuas. She is passionate about social justice and equality and doing what she can to assist the marginalized in having their voices heard.
