Claud Covaci

Claud Covaci is the Founder and CEO of Synkwise, a modern healthcare technology platform built specifically for assisted living homes, adult family homes, and residential care communities. A founder-operator at heart, Claud entered the healthcare technology space after firsthand experience with the operational, regulatory, and emotional challenges of running assisted living environments under increasing scrutiny.

Rather than approaching the industry as a technologist alone, Claud brings a provider-centric perspective shaped by inspections, compliance pressures, staffing realities, and the need for defensible documentation. His work focuses on designing technology that supports caregivers, protects providers, and strengthens accountability without adding unnecessary complexity or burden.

Claud is a frequent speaker on topics including assisted living compliance, healthcare data security, HIPAA, operational risk, and the responsible adoption of modern technology and AI in residential care. Protecting What You Have Built - Commercial Insurance Essentials

This session provides a practical overview of essential business insurance coverage to help assisted living providers protect their organizations and remain compliant. Attendees will learn about key policies such as Commercial General Liability, Professional Liability, cyber liability, and ALTCS/AHCCCS requirements, as well as property insurance, workers’ compensation, and commercial auto coverage. The presentation will also clarify important policy terms, including occurrence versus claims-made coverage, retro dates, limits, exclusions, tail coverage, and defense under reservation of rights, giving providers the knowledge needed to manage risk and safeguard their operations.

Spencer Cohen

Spencer Cohen started in the insurance industry in 2012 as a workers’ compensation claims adjuster. Prior to working at Hub International as a commercial insurance broker, he worked for two third party administrators assisting clients nationwide with their risk management, claims, and loss control programs. As a former CNA, Spencer has a lot of respect for long-term care facilities. His insurance focus at Hub is within the Healthcare and Complex Risk space, and the majority of his clients are assisted living facilities.

Best Interactions for Safety and Success with the Fire Department

This session will provide a brief overview of what the Fire Department expects upon arrival, including access to pertinent medical history, code status, power of attorney, and physician information, as well as copies of documents that can accompany the patient to the hospital. We will discuss common barriers to patient care, lift assists, CPR considerations, and situations where patients may be unaware that 911 has been called. The presentation will also clarify the difference between emergent and non-emergent responses, what assisted living staff can expect from the Fire Department, and the importance of completing an initial patient assessment. Emphasis will be placed on clear communication with staff and families regarding transport decisions and destinations, along with ongoing CQI, issue tracking, and partnership efforts to improve patient care, coordination, and outcomes.

Melissa Stuckey

Melissa Stuckey, co-owner of Assisted Living Locators Mesa, has been serving families in the East Valley for the past seven years. A University of Arizona graduate with a master’s degree in health management, she is a Certified Senior Advisor and Certified in Dementia Care.

With a successful background across the health, banking, and education services industries, Melissa brings both business acumen and compassion to her work in senior care. Active in the senior care community, Melissa has served on the Board of PASRS (Professional Association of Senior Referral Specialists) since 2020, including a term as President. Dan Harrah

Dan Harrah is the founder of Harrah Advisory Services and an experienced Arizona Assisted Living Manager with over a decade of leadership in senior living. He has successfully led high-performing assisted living and memory care communities, specializing in operations, licensing compliance, census growth, team development, and quality care. Dan provides consulting services to senior living communities to improve performance and culture, while also helping families navigate complex healthcare decisions with confidence. Guided by strong family values and a passion for serving others, Dan is committed to helping communities and families achieve the best possible outcomes in senior care.

Amy Mclloy

Amy began her journey in assisted living, caring for her terminally ill father, followed by her mother-in-law at end of life, in her own home. Amy was a CNA in high school for the elderly and followed that passion throughout her life.  As a mother to five children, her goal as her daughters progress through their teenage years, is to model for them how a satisfying career based on the ideals of service and the genuine helping of others, can balance with a mom who is present and accounted for. 

Amy is the current owner and operator, managing two private care homes in the Phoenix area since 2019.  She takes much pride in providing love and life to her residents and their families.      

Kris Silverman 

Kris Silverman is a dedicated and compassionate Nurse Practitioner committed to providing exceptional care to older adults. With over 30 years of experience in Nursing, Kris specializes in managing complex chronic conditions, promoting healthy aging, and enhancing the quality of life for seniors.  Kris and her husband Ben own Starfish Care Homes in Tucson AZ which has grown to 6 locations since their first home in 2012.   She works closely with patients and their families, caregivers and managers, support staff and other members of the health care team, to provide the best individualized care for each senior.  Kris is a member or professional organizations and is committed to ongoing professional development of everyone on the Starfish team.
When she is not in a care home, she is playing tennis or visiting one of their amazing children.
