This month, AALHA's Owner/Operator CE class will address how assisted living homes owners and managers can help protect their residents from cyber scams, exploitation and financial defrauding. This significant problem has been reported by the FBI’s Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) Elder Fraud Report and equated to $54,441,279 in losses during 2021 alone.
Joyce Petrowski from the organization R.O.S.E., which advocates for the security of seniors, will lead this timely class. You'll learn how to help identify potential scams, what to do in the case of a resident falling victim
to a scam and how to safeguard the elderly who are often targets of criminals because of
their philanthropic and trusting nature.
